Motherland

Hail Falklands Motherland!
So wild and yet so free
Hail nature's shining strand
Of pearls set in the sea.

Behold our young immortals stand,
And face the challenge to the free
Upon the threshold of our land
A land that’s all to you and me.

The angry gods with wrath did truly
Send relief from doubt and pain,
Chastise and rend the foe with fury
Till he retreated, bowed with shame.

We were weak, our brothers came
Saved us from our great defeat
They shed their blood, we sing their fame
As victors over pride and greed

Lessons learned we face the future
Friendship surely now our aim
To be struck with men of culture
Not with those who would enchain

Hail Falklands Motherland!
We pledge our faith in thee
Beneath our banners proudly stand
To work for peace, forever free
