Ian Strange, Georgina Strange

This beautiful hardback coffee table style book showcases over 100 images of the Falkland Islands' most wild and beautiful landscapes in the ever-changing light of the Islands' unique weather patterns.  Atmosphere presents a collection of photographs taken over 4 decades, many from remote and rarely visited areas. The artists have endeavoured to produce a work of high quality, which emphasises the visual aspect of design, allowing the photographs to speak for themselves.

The Falkland Islands: Between the Wind & Sea
Kevin Schafer

The Falkland Islands, in the wild South Atlantic, are home to one of the greatest gatherings of wildlife on Earth. Award-winning photographer and naturalist Kevin Schafer has spent several months in the Islands capturing this extraordinary natural pageant on film. The result is a vivid, colourful portrait of a windswept paradise. Kevin Schafer is a professional natural history photographer and writer, whose work has appeared in all of the most respected science and nature magazines.  He was the 1997 recipient of the Gerald Durrell award for photography of Endangered Species. Trained as a sea bird biologist, he has travelled to all seven continents to document wildlife, conservation and eco-tourism issues. The foreword to the book is by Becky Ingham of Falklands Conservation.
Atlas of Breeding Birds of the Falkland Islands
Robin Woods, Anne Woods, Geoffrey McMullan (Illustrator)

In 1983 a survey of the breeding birds of the Falkland Islands was carried out and continued for the subsequent 10 breeding seasons. This work, based on the findings, shows that some species are found throughout the islands while others have a restricted distribution. Population estimates have been calculated and the distribution of most species is related to the main topographical features of the Falklands archipelago. The overall survey results and notes on habitat and breeding behaviour are compared with historical records since colonization began in 1764. Falklands populations are also considered in relation to their world distribution, highlighting the importance of the archipelago for the maintenance of some species with restricted ranges, especially where numbers have declined seriously in South America. In addition, the need for protection of some species and habitats, and the need for future studies of behaviour and distribution, are highlighted. It should be of value to ecologists and ornithologists, as well as general readers.
Flowering Plants of the Falkland Islands
Robin W. Woods, Christabel King (Illustrator)
A Guide to 46 of the Flowering Plants found in the Falkland Islands  including 13 endemic to the Islands.
Insects of the Falkland Islands
Alexander G. Jones, Richard Lewington
The first published guide to the identification of insects on the Falkland Islands. Many insects on this remote archipelago are unique, and many have probably yet to be discovered. The aim of the publication is to stimulate a greater appreciation of this important part of the Falkland Islands' environment. Falklands Conservation is a registered charity founded by the late Sir Peter Scott in 1979 to monitor and protect the exceptional wildlife of the Islands.
