What to Do in the Falkland Islands
Tours and Excursions
There are a number of excellent excursions available out into the Falkland
Islands environment. Our guides are first class hosts and eager to ensure
that your stay is a memorable one. Their knowledge and enthusiasm is
infectious, so much so that you will thirst to spend more time in their
company. For the more adventurous a Landrover tour across miles of open
moor, across bog and stream to a remote wildlife destination is a journey
of discovery.
Golf
For the golfer there are the 'quirky' golf courses. With courses on West
Falkland and East Falkland, there is a variety to choose from. Add to this
the opportunity to play on the most Southerly courses in the world and we
are sure you will agree our golf is an experience that is out of the
ordinary.
Weddings/Honeymoons
For the romantic, or those seeking a unique location to tie the knot, why
not plan a wedding or honeymoon in the Falkland Islands? We can promise
spectacular scenery and unique settings for your special day. The
Falklands wedding locations are stunning and certainly different - imagine
having black-browed albatross or penguins as on-lookers - there are white
sand beaches and turquoise seas, or perhaps a wedding standing high above
the ocean on a natural rock arch (fondly called 'the cathedral') will
capture your imagination? Or a beautiful garden on a remote island, with
swaying palms and grasses will provide you with your idyllic setting for
the occasion?
Photography
The Falkland Islands are a paradise for anyone with the remotest interest
in photography - regardless of whether the person behind the lens is an
amateur or a professional! You will need plenty of memory/film for a visit
to the Falklands, and you will still probably wish you had brought more
with you, such is the extent of material that you will find to photograph
here. Wildlife or watering holes, people or places, skylines or sea
scenes, there is an image around every corner waiting for your to frame it
in your own personal style.
Battlefield Tours
Wherever your Battlefield tour takes you, perhaps around Goose Green and
Darwin or up Tumbledown mountain, be assured of a moving experience and a
step back through history. Led by local people with expert knowledge, you
will be guided through battle events of the conflict of 1982.
Artists/Painting
The vibrant colours of nature and variety of landscape in the Falkland
Islands make this an unrivalled destination for artists. With low edged
light, silhouetted shapes at sunset, incredible skies and a never-ending
choice of nature's subjects for the artist to capture, is it any wonder
that so many visitors class the Falkland Islands as the perfect blend of
hobby and holiday?
