Falkland Families Association - Formed on 14
April 1983 on board the M.V. Cunard Countess on the return journey from
the Falkland Islands to Montevideo, during the official government
sponsored next of kin pilgrimage to the graves of the men who were
killed in the Falklands War. The aims of the Association are to
maintain and strengthen existing friendship between relatives and
friends of those who died during the Falklands Campaign, and between
those relatives and friends and the Falkland Islands. Help of a
practical kind is given whenever funds allow, and financial help is also
given to allow relatives to visit the Falkland Islands. Membership
is open to the relatives of all the British servicemen who were killed
during the Falklands Campaign. Associate membership is open to
friends of all British servicemen killed during the Campaign, and to all
Falkland Islanders. The Association holds a memorial service in
St. Paul's Cathedral each June.
