DOCUMENTS FROM THE 1982 FALKLANDS WAR Security Orders Issued to Civilian Population 30 May 1982 Security Order No.1 from the Military Government for the Protection of the Civilian Population - All the inhabitants of Puerto Argentina (ex Stanley) are informed that those living or having their homes on the southern sidewalk of Davis Street and towards the South, will have obligatorily to move to another place in the town. - All those homes affected by this order must be closed the best possible way in order to avoid illegal entries or robberies. - This order has to be accomplished before Monday the 31st of May at 3pm. - Those who need help to move their belongings can ask for it at the Secretary General's Office (Mr Mora). - The Military Government at the proper time will let it be known to those affected by this order when they can return to their homes. - The purpose of this order is to protect the civilian population because of the tendency of the latest British bombardment. - Once the situation is normalised the Military Government will
contemplate those cases in which damages were caused by our Forces on
private property. 12 June 1982 Security Notice from the Military Government for the Protection of the Civilian Population By order of the Military Government all inhabitants living on the west side of the Monument Battle will have to leave their homes before 4pm of today. The enemy's shelling make these houses unsafe and a serious risk to all those who live there. This order is Mandatory and cannot be refused. Those who have no place to go in the City will have available as a first place to go The Cathedral, The West Store, The Colony Club, and the Saint Mary's Church Annexe. This order is issued as part of the responsibility of the Government to
