deaths, marriages, bazaars and shipping movements.
The Penguin, 1929 to June 1938
A daily news sheet began at the same time as local radio broadcasts and

Church Cathedral. In addition to church news it covered local social

Islands, the Monthly Review was started by Denton Thompson, then Colonial
Secretary, and Joe King, the Government Printer, and ran for 48 issues. It
was printed by Joe King and ceased to be produced in its original form
when he went on leave early in 1963. The Monthly Review was a four page
record of local events and items of general interest which were featured
on the front and back pages. The centre pages carried advertisements from
local shops and one or two feature photographs usually from overseas.
Falkland Islands Monthly Review, January 1963 to April 1973
Mr D.R. Morrison volunteered to take on production of the Monthly Review

and local radio programmes.
